A Different Facebook Strategy

A Different Facebook Strategy

I originally had a Facebook profile that I had built to over 3,000 friends. Not really knowing what I was doing (although I thought I did) I was just doing what everyone else was doing, until I learned a completely different Facebook Strategy from some training in MLSP.

My original profile was full of spammers and people sticking me in all kinds of groups, which caused me to get emails all day long on things I didn’t care about at all. I also made the mistake of thinking that the quantity of friends was more important then the quality.

To fix this, instead of just unfriending everyone that was spamming me and grouping me I changed that profile into a fanpage and started a whole new profile. (If you want to know how to change a profile into a fanpage leave a comment below and I will email it to you).

With the new profile it was time to focus on quality of friends and not quantity. You can look for people that you have things in common with if you want, but a better way is to look at someones info and if you can check out their wall and see what they are posting.

Think about who you want to work with when you are checking out their post. Are they negative, are they full of a lot of BS, or are they positive and regularly active on facebook interacting in a professional manner. Also, if you are trying to build locally then target people who are in a professional field locally.

Once you start friending people don’t lead out with your business. Get to know them first by asking them questions about themselves, wait for them to ask you about what you do and ask to learn more. It’s best to try to pull it offline by asking for their phone number. One way you can do that is tell them to give you a call but you need their phone number so you will know it is them calling you, make sure you give them your number.

If you can get them offline then just prospect them like you would anyone else.

Make sure your profile is professional looking, not full of all kinds of games that you play and things that make you look like you have all day to just play around instead of like you are busy working.

The key is consistency, connect with about 5 to 10 new people a day and just get to know them first. To get them to ask what you do make sure you don’t have your company on your profile. After messaging a few time about what they do they will become curious about what you do and will eventually ask.

PS. If your on Facebook then you MUST check this out YESTERDAY right here
